Swatantra Theatre stands as a leading Hindi theatre group in Pune’s scenario.An active group,with high potential and insuperable creativity.Exact focus with flavour of experimentation and overwhelming confidence is what describes Swatantra.

The Director Abhijeet Choudhary formed this group with a vision to revive the dying art form-Theatre.It was found on 15th August 2007 and walked forth to never look back.  12 productions and 36 performances in all the renouned auditoriums including F.T.I.I.Balgandharva Rangamandir,Nehru Memorial hall,Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar auditorium.etc.

Swatantra gets an honour by being invited at the N.D.A to  perform regularly and conduct acting workshop for cadets.

Along with performances Swatantra Theatre regularly holds acting training program for aspiring actors.It also conducts Drama Therapy sessions for personality development.

Swatantra Theatre is drama faculty at Balkalyan Sanstha for handicapped and is associated with many N.G.O’s,schools and colleges.

Many actors like Irfan Khan,Piyush Mishra,Raza Murad,Neetu Chandra,Dr Shriram Lagoo,Shrikant Moghe have visited the group.

Due to consistency in quality work Swatantra Theatre has a production house of its own called Swatantra Films.It will shoot for its very first commercial film to be produced by Shaik Riyaz and directed by Abhijeet Choudhary and release in May 10.
